WATER CONSERVATION

Water bodies created by us have immensely helped the tribal women in their daily chores. The construction of water bodies, such as ponds, has provided numerous benefits to tribal women in many ways. These ponds serve as a source of clean water for drinking, irrigation, and livestock, which has significantly improved the quality of life for these women.

Previously, women had to walk long distances to fetch water for their daily chores, which not only consumed their time but also put their health at risk due to the use of contaminated water. The construction of these ponds has greatly reduced their burden, and they can now use this time for other productive activities. In addition to providing access to clean water, the construction of these ponds has also created job opportunities for local people during the construction phase. This has helped to improve the economic conditions of these communities by providing them with a steady source of income. Furthermore, the ponds have provided an opportunity for the locals to engage in fish farming, which is a profitable business.

As part of the initiative, the interested families are given training on aquaculture techniques and provided with freshwater fish species like Catla and Rohu. This training enables them to run a feasible fishery and manage the fish farm effectively. The practice of fish farming has led to increased food security and enhanced livelihoods in these communities. The availability of fish in these ponds not only provides a source of protein but also generates additional income for these families. By engaging in fish farming, they can sell their produce in local markets and earn a good price for their fish. This has helped to improve their economic conditions and reduce their dependence on other means of livelihood. In conclusion, the construction of water bodies like ponds has significantly improved the lives of tribal women by providing them with access to clean water and creating job opportunities. Furthermore, fish farming in these ponds has led to increased food security and enhanced livelihoods for these communities. This initiative not only helps to improve the economic conditions of these communities but also promotes sustainable practices and conservation of natural resources. We have identified many potential areas for building hundreds of such ponds and actively looking for support from individuals and companies
